Syed Fahim Anwer ("we," "us," or "our") operates the House Design AI mobile application (the "App"). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our App on iOS and Android devices.

By using the App, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy. If you do not agree with the terms of this Privacy Policy, please do not use the App.

1. Information We Collect

1.1 Information You Provide

  • Account Information: When you use the App, an anonymous account is created automatically. You may optionally provide your name and email address to personalize your experience.
  • Photos and Images: You upload photos of rooms, homes, or spaces to generate AI-powered redesigns. These photos are uploaded to our servers for processing.
  • Design Preferences: Room type selections, design styles, color palettes, and text prompts you provide to customize AI-generated designs.
  • Feedback: Any feedback, issue reports, or support requests you submit through the App.

1.2 Information Collected Automatically

  • Device Information: Device model, operating system name and version, device type (phone/tablet), and a unique device identifier (iOS Identifier for Vendor or Android ID) used solely for account management.
  • Usage Data: App interactions, generation history, feature usage, and subscription status.
  • Crash and Performance Data: Error logs, stack traces, and performance metrics collected through Sentry for stability improvements. This data includes device name, OS version, and app configuration at the time of the error but is not linked to your identity.
  • Push Notification Tokens: If you enable push notifications, we collect your device push token (APNs on iOS, FCM on Android) to send you notifications about completed AI generations.
  • Network Information: Online/offline status to provide offline-capable features and cached data.

1.3 Information from Third-Party Services

  • RevenueCat: Subscription status, purchase history, and anonymous customer identifiers for managing in-app purchases and subscriptions.
  • Meta (Facebook) SDK: App install attribution, app events (such as app opens and purchases), and advertising identifiers to measure the effectiveness of our advertising campaigns on Facebook and Instagram. The Meta SDK may collect device identifiers, IP address, and app usage events.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect for the following purposes:

  • Provide the Service: Process your photos through AI to generate room redesigns, manage your account, track credits, and deliver results.
  • Process Payments: Manage subscriptions, verify purchase status, and handle billing through RevenueCat and Apple App Store / Google Play Store.
  • Send Notifications: Notify you when your AI-generated designs are ready, and send relevant updates about the service (only if you opt in).
  • Improve the App: Diagnose crashes and bugs through Sentry, analyze usage patterns, and improve app stability and performance.
  • Advertising: Measure the effectiveness of advertising campaigns through Meta (Facebook) SDK to understand how users discover and install our App. We do not sell your personal data to advertisers.
  • Security: Detect and prevent fraud, abuse, and unauthorized access to accounts.

3. AI Processing of Your Photos

When you upload a photo, it is sent to our secure servers and then forwarded to third-party AI service providers to generate your redesigned image. These providers include:

  • Google Gemini API (Google LLC)
  • OpenAI GPT Image API (OpenAI, Inc.)
  • Other AI image generation APIs as needed to provide the service

Important: Your photos are used solely to generate your requested design. We do not use your photos to train AI models. The third-party AI providers process your images according to their respective privacy policies and data processing agreements.

Your uploaded photos and generated images are stored on our servers until you delete your account. You can delete individual generations or your entire account at any time through the App.

4. Third-Party Services

The App uses the following third-party services that may collect information. Each service has its own privacy policy governing how it handles your data:

5. Data Sharing and Disclosure

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information. We may share your information only in the following circumstances:

  • Service Providers: We share data with third-party service providers (listed above) strictly to operate and improve the App. Each provider processes data only for the purpose for which it was shared.
  • AI Processing: Your uploaded photos are sent to AI service providers (Google, OpenAI) solely to generate your requested designs.
  • Legal Requirements: We may disclose your information if required to do so by law or in response to valid requests by public authorities (e.g., a court order or government agency).
  • Business Transfers: In the event of a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction.

6. Data Storage and Security

Your data is stored on our self-hosted servers located in the United States. We implement industry-standard security measures to protect your data, including:

  • Encrypted data transmission (HTTPS/TLS)
  • Secure credential storage using platform-native secure storage (iOS Keychain, Android EncryptedSharedPreferences)
  • Document-level access controls ensuring users can only access their own data
  • Anonymous authentication (no passwords required)

While we strive to use commercially acceptable means of protecting your personal information, no method of transmission over the internet or electronic storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee its absolute security.

7. Data Retention

We retain your personal data for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Service. Specifically:

  • Account Data: Retained until you delete your account.
  • Photos and Generations: Retained until you delete individual items or your account.
  • Crash Logs: Retained for up to 90 days for debugging purposes.
  • Purchase History: Retained as required by Apple, Google, and RevenueCat for transaction records.

8. Your Rights and Choices

8.1 All Users

  • Account Deletion: You can delete your account and all associated data (photos, generations, user data) at any time through the App's settings. This action is permanent and irreversible.
  • Notification Preferences: You can enable or disable push notifications at any time through your device settings or the App.
  • Photo Management: You can delete individual generations and their associated images at any time.

8.2 iOS Users - App Tracking Transparency

On iOS 14.5 and later, we will request your permission before tracking your activity across other companies' apps and websites for advertising purposes (via the Meta SDK). You can change this permission at any time in your device's Settings > Privacy & Security > Tracking.

8.3 European Economic Area (EEA) Residents - GDPR

If you are located in the EEA, you have the following rights under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR):

  • Right of Access: Request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
  • Right to Rectification: Request correction of inaccurate personal data.
  • Right to Erasure: Request deletion of your personal data (you can do this directly through the App's account deletion feature).
  • Right to Restrict Processing: Request that we limit how we use your data.
  • Right to Data Portability: Request your data in a structured, machine-readable format.
  • Right to Object: Object to processing of your personal data for certain purposes, including direct marketing.
  • Right to Withdraw Consent: Withdraw consent at any time where we rely on consent as the legal basis for processing.

Legal Basis for Processing: We process your data based on: (a) your consent (photo uploads, notifications), (b) contractual necessity (providing the design service), and (c) legitimate interests (security, crash reporting, app improvement).

8.4 California Residents - CCPA/CPRA

If you are a California resident, you have the following rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) and the California Privacy Rights Act (CPRA):

  • Right to Know: Request what personal information we collect, use, and disclose.
  • Right to Delete: Request deletion of your personal information.
  • Right to Opt-Out of Sale: We do not sell your personal information. No opt-out is necessary.
  • Right to Non-Discrimination: We will not discriminate against you for exercising any of your CCPA/CPRA rights.

9. Advertising and Meta (Facebook) SDK

We use the Meta (Facebook) SDK to measure the effectiveness of our advertising campaigns on Facebook and Instagram. The Meta SDK may collect:

  • Device identifiers (Advertising ID on Android, IDFA on iOS with your permission)
  • IP address
  • App events (app installs, app opens, in-app purchases)
  • Device information (model, OS, screen size)

This data is used for ad attribution (understanding which ads led to app installs) and campaign optimization. We do not use Facebook Login, and we do not share your photos, designs, or personal profile information with Meta.

You can control ad tracking through your device settings: on iOS via Settings > Privacy & Security > Tracking, and on Android via Settings > Privacy > Ads. You can also manage your Meta ad preferences at facebook.com/adpreferences.

10. Children's Privacy

The App is not intended for use by anyone under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personally identifiable information from children under 13 years of age. If we discover that a child under 13 has provided us with personal information, we will immediately delete it from our servers. 11. International Data Transfers

Your information may be transferred to and processed in the United States, where our servers are located. If you are accessing the App from outside the United States, please be aware that your information may be transferred to, stored, and processed in a country where data protection laws may differ from those in your jurisdiction. By using the App, you consent to the transfer of your information to the United States. For AI processing, your photos may also be temporarily processed by Google (USA) and OpenAI (USA) in accordance with their respective data processing agreements.

12. Cookies and Local Storage

The App does not use browser cookies. However, we use on-device storage mechanisms (Secure Store, MMKV, AsyncStorage) to store your preferences, cached data, and authentication credentials locally on your device. Third-party SDKs integrated into the App may use their own local storage mechanisms to function properly.

13. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update our Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page and updating the "Last updated" date. For significant changes, we may provide additional notice through the App. You are advised to review this Privacy Policy periodically for any changes. Continued use of the App after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
